dear to all
firstly a hearty congratulation to all – vishal bhai, yam bhai, nelson bhai, to unknown bhai, dajus etc.
after attending the first meeting it was nice gathering, though i would not stay to long for further details, but i felt it was nice thinkig only we should work together implement in action bhais, in very proper way. our mission should go up and not for a 2, 6 months only, we should be united as a family not seeing cast, creed, religion, and so no discrimination like Ms joyty said, you are from darj, assam, or simla, HP. etc.
i hope to hear from you soon, we are ready to atten next meeting.
right.
Best wishes

firstly a hearty congratulation to all
Even if you do something about Drug Eradication than I think the goal is achived…Other things will fall in place if Drug Eradication could be done..
It has become huge evil for entire Nepali/Gurkhali (all the same) society…
Good job.
Please try to get a geogprahic rep from each of the region (like Uttarkhand, Assam, Maharastra, Jharkhand, etc.) so that it can truly be an all India organization. When you select a rep, make sure that person is able to travel to Delhi or someplace designated for at least an important meeting as well as access emails on line. All those old fashioned people who do have the zeal to serve but cannot afford to travel or be on the internet regularly can be put as advisors.
Right from the beginning, the two things are important to do right. One, make the office bearers term only for two terms so that others can also get the opportunity to serve. One term of two years each.
Two, submit the periodic progress report through the internet/website.
Stay as non political. It should be clearly stated.
Of course, I would think that anyone espousing the Gorkhaland aspiration within the consitition of the Association would be welcome.
As time changes, so do people and with the people the ideas also change. The organisation should allow dynamic changes as called for to go with the time keeping the main goal ahead.
We don’t want this to be as Gorkhaliko sallah, kharaniko dalla! And, we don’t want this to turn as Delhiwalah ko guff garne social club either.
Good luck. Lots of best wishes!
hello..
being in the meeting i felt that the awareness level has started to make its marked on our people.. awareness for equality, awareness to information, awareness to do something for our society. Though i could not be there till the meeting ended (which i still regret) due to some dire reason, I knew that this is a historical step taken.
There has been number of talks going around but not so fruitfull.
There are many people whom i would like to thanks for this great achievement but among them i would like to thank Bishal Rai, Raju and Niel the most who took the initial step for a great work ahead. I have seen and heard a lot of people demoralising them but they were strong and it was the love for their homeland and its people that never let them look behind…
It was very nice of Col Ale, Binu who is pursuing Phd from JNU and Jyoti Di and many other to come to the meeting out of their tight schedule. Listening to Binu da , Col Ale, Jyoti Di and others speech was really inspiring. I believe the cause of the society will be taken care by each one of us…
JAI GORKHA

Dear members – Gorkha Welfare Society,
Many kudos on your noble mission of (1)endeavouring to change the outlook of the rest of India regarding the Gorkhas and (2) of attempting to reform the rest of us by addressing social, cultural, educational, literary and other issues.
I am also glad to learn, through Gyanendra’s response, that similar efforts are being made in Kolkata and Bengaluru.
I wish to congratulate and to wish you well in your mission.
With sincere good wishes and prayers,
rajalama.
congratulations to the founders of the association… i think its high time that we gorkhas come together, stand together. fight together and help one another …
congratulations once again keep it up
It is with great interest that went through all the information on the Gorkha Welfare Society and my appreciation to all those who were instrumental in setting it up.
A fundamental question howevere, remains to be answered. And this is vital in the current environment. The question -
“Who is a Gorkha? ”
The term needs to be defined clearly and you need to state very clearly somewhere on the constitutional rights that they enjoy.
I raise this question because in past several weeks I have had endless discussions and arguments with friends, foes, relatives, kith and kin on issue. I feel I am more clear in my mind on who is a “Gorkha” but the something else starts up and I am confused.
Should we be saying :
a) Gorkha
b) Nepali speaking Indian (who could be anyone who has the knack of picking languages)
c) Indian of Nepali origin
or
d) something else?
Somebody please do take this discussion ahead. The question must answered and understood similarly by all aross India, Nepal and the world.
Cheers
RANJANA THIS IS WHAT WAS NEEDED …. EDUCATE ONE AND YOUR JOB IS DONE…. AS HEMINGWAY SAID”"”YOU TEACH A MAN TO CATCH FIS U SOLVE HIS HUNGER PROBLEM”"” EDUCATE AS MANY AS U CAN
Beautifully done, Barunda, the site looks refreshing and original. Bishalda, I think a regular update on the activities of Gorkha Welfare Society would be most welcomed.
Great job.Its really nice to see such societies for the betterment of our people.
Keeping in mind, the vision, aims and issues of the society you can count on me as committed. I just hope we’ll keep the fire burning to help this society expand more rapidly. I hope that being the initiators, you will lead us to achieve our goals collectively.
I hope at the end of the day someday from today, we will look back on the efforts we put in, as a fruitful educational adventure and not a deserted look of failure and regrets. We have the right words fit in to highlight the most important issues we ought to deal with and I hope we have the right minds, sincere hearts and a true Gorkhali attitude to come with the right solutions.
To avoid writing more crap, I’ll end here.
By the way, while filling in the bio data for the registration. I came upon tags like (Identity will be kept secret)…I am not quite sure how would that be of any help. Though I feel certain there is logic to it. But somehow I am unconvinced that such things would not allow this society to be free and open to opinions and ideas. We shouldn’t fear of any cyber nabbing if we are here to help each other.
We aren’t discussing political ideals and scams to whisper to each other in nicknames like “gorkha kanchi” or “thulo daaju”. It would be great if we knew each other transparently so that the society benefits from this free web.
Keeping it here JAI GORKHA.
